FUTURES LAB

ATL DTN Artist Residency with Fulton County Public Art

I was selected for the ATL DTN Artist Residency, a collaboration between Atlanta Downtown and Fulton County Public Art’s Futures Lab, to explore new intersections of design, technology, and public art. Through this residency, I developed a series of looping digital projections inspired by the architectural forms and rhythms of downtown Atlanta—translating the layered texture of RISO printing into motion for public display.

During the residency, I hosted an open studio at Atlanta Underground, home of the Futures Lab, where I shared my animation process, demonstrated risograph printing techniques, and gave a talk on creative business practices and artistic entrepreneurship. For the final exhibition, the work was projected onto the Goat Farm Arts Center during SITE, a one-night contemporary art festival where Atlanta Downtown presented my installation via the MAP Rover program.

That evening, I also hosted an open studio at my new Goat Farm workspace, welcoming over a thousand visitors to learn about RISO printing and view the animations projected inside the studio alongside process materials—contact sheets, color separations, and in-progress frames. The event coincided with the debut of my new RISO print studio at the Goat Farm, where I also designed the official SITE festival t-shirt—printed by my neighbors, Ink Jammers.

As part of the residency, the animations were also displayed on digital signage throughout downtown Atlanta, extending the project’s reach beyond the gallery and into the city itself.
